Key Experiences

North Sikkim's Gurudongmar Lake, at 5,183 metres, is one of the highest lakes in the world — a site sacred to both Sikhs and Buddhists, surrounded by glacier-scraped moraine and 360-degree Himalayan views. Yumthang Valley's wildflower meadows are equally arresting, particularly during the spring rhododendron bloom. Pelling in West Sikkim faces Kanchenjunga at remarkably close range. Pemayangste Monastery, the ruined royal palace at Rabdentse, the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, and the Singshore Bridge — one of Asia's highest suspension bridges — are all within the day's range.
