Key Experiences

North Sikkim's Gurudongmar Lake, at 5,183 metres, is one of the highest lakes in the world — a site sacred to both Sikhs and Buddhists, surrounded by glacier-scraped moraine and 360-degree Himalayan views. Yumthang Valley's wildflower meadows are equally arresting, particularly during the spring rhododendron bloom. Darjeeling adds a colonial-era chapter to the journey: Tiger Hill sunrise views of Kanchenjunga, the UNESCO-listed Darjeeling Himalayan Railway toy train, and tea-estate walks through some of the world's most famous high-grown gardens. Pelling in West Sikkim faces Kanchenjunga at remarkably close range. Pemayangste Monastery, the ruined royal palace at Rabdentse, the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, and the Singshore Bridge — one of Asia's highest suspension bridges — are all within the day's range.
