    Kathmandu

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Pashupatinath. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, 5 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu, this temple is a central place of worship where holy sadhus come to pray. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, the temple complex is a sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images, and inscriptions built over centuries, making it one of the most revered sites in Nepal.

Next, visit Bouddhanath Stupa, the holiest shrine for Buddhists in Nepal. Its large stupa attracts pilgrims from across the country and is a vibrant center of Buddhist culture and devotion.

Afterwards, explore Patan (Lalitpur), also known as the “City of Beauty,” located just across the Bagmati River from Kathmandu. Patan is renowned for its ancient architectural masterpieces, and the central Durbar Square has a remarkable concentration of temples, far higher per square meter than in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. The city is also home to the Tibetan Refugee Center, known for its thriving carpet industry, making it the perfect place to shop for authentic Tibetan carpets.

The day concludes with a visit to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). The golden spire of the 5th-century stupa is adorned with colorful fluttering prayer flags and crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, offering stunning views of the city. The painted eyes of Buddha watch all who ascend the worn stone steps, making it one of Nepal’s most iconic symbols.

Note: The above sightseeing covers approximately 6 hours after the vehicle reports at the hotel.
