Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the best time of year to book this tour?

The ideal time for this coastal and temple journey is between October and March. During these months, the weather is pleasantly cool and dry, making it comfortable for temple visits and outdoor sightseeing. The summer months (April–June) can be quite humid, while the monsoon season (July–September) brings heavy rainfall to the coastal areas.

Are entry fees to the temples and monuments included in the package?

No, the tour price covers your transportation, stay, and specified meals. Entry tickets for UNESCO sites in Mahabalipuram, the Meenakshi Temple, and ferry tickets for the Vivekananda Rock Memorial are to be paid directly on the spot by the guest. We recommend carrying some cash for these fees.

Is there a specific dress code for temple visits?

Yes, most temples in South India, especially the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum and Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, follow a strict dress code. Men are generally required to wear long trousers or dhotis, and women should wear sarees or long skirts/salwar kameez with a dupatta. Avoid sleeveless tops or shorts when visiting religious sites.

How long are the daily drives between cities?

Since this tour covers a vast distance, some travel days involve 5 to 7 hours of driving. For example, the stretch from Mahabalipuram to Tanjore is about 290 km. However, we use deluxe private vehicles to ensure maximum comfort, and your driver will take breaks for refreshments along the way.

Are the vehicles and drivers available for late-night outings?

The standard vehicle usage is for the itinerary sightseeing only, typically from after breakfast until sunset (around 7:00 PM). If you wish to use the car for late-night dinners or additional travel outside the planned route, it would be subject to extra charges payable directly to the driver.

Can the tour be customized if I want to stay an extra night in a specific city?

Absolutely. While this is a pre-designed 7-night itinerary, it is a private tour, meaning we can customize the duration or add specific destinations based on your preferences. Simply let us know your requirements before booking, and we can adjust the plan and the quote accordingly.
