Day 8 :Kumarakom - Cochin - (100 kms, 2 hrs)
After breakfast, we will check out and begin our journey back toward Cochin. Before we head to the airport, we’ll take some time to explore the historic charm of this coastal city, often called the "Queen of the Arabian Sea."
Iconic Sightseeing in Cochin:
Chinese Fishing Nets: Perhaps the most photographed sight in Kerala, these massive cantilevered nets are a testament to Kochi’s ancient trade links. Legend has it they were introduced in the 14th century by the Chinese explorer Zheng He, from the courts of Kublai Khan.
Fort Kochi: Wander through the streets of ancient Fort Kochi to experience a unique blend of history. The architecture here tells the story of English, Dutch, and Portuguese influences that have shaped Kerala’s heritage over centuries.
Jewish Synagogue: Visit the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations, originally built in 1568. Inside, you’ll find a stunning gold pulpit and hand-painted willow-pattern floor tiles imported from China. The space is illuminated by an exquisite Belgian chandelier and features a unique, historic clock tower.
Timings: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm & 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm (Closed on Saturdays)
Entry Fee: INR 10 per person
Homeward Bound After your sightseeing tour, we will transfer you to Cochin Airport for your flight back home. You’ll depart with a heart full of wonderful memories and the serene spirit of "Cool Kerala" from your journey with The Kangaroo Travels.

Fort Kochi : the ancient Fort Kochi is where you can get acquainted with Kerala’s rich history, culture, and heritage. This fort exhibits the traits of the different cultures of English, Dutch and Portuguese infused in its age-old architecture
Jewish Synagogue : The Jewish Synagogue in Kochi is the oldest of its kind in the Commonwealth of Nations. The synagogue was originally built in 1568 and later restored by the Dutch. The synagogue has a gold pulpit as well as hand-painted, willow-pattern floor tiles that were imported from China. An exquisitely beautiful Belgian chandelier illuminates the synagogue and the unique clock tower further adds to its charm.
