The next part of the tour covers the charming hill stations of Dalhousie, Khajjiar, and Dharamshala. In Dalhousie and its surrounding landscapes, you’ll enjoy lush green meadows, natural beauty, and must-visit spots like Khajjiar – often called “Mini Switzerland”, Dainkund Peak, and St. John’s Church. In Dharamshala, explore the vibrant Tibetan culture, scenic Dal Lake, and serene Gyuto Monastery.

    Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, you will be warmly received by our representative and proceed by road to Shimla. Known for its pine-scented hills, picturesque Shali Peaks, crisp winter skies, fragrant cedar forests, romantic mists, and golden hillsides, Shimla has long been a favorite hill retreat. Enjoy the scenic drive as you gradually ascend into the beautiful landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. On arrival in Shimla, check into your hotel and relax after the journey.

    Shimla

    After breakfast, proceed for a scenic excursion to Kufri Valley, located 16 kms from Shimla. Kufri is known for its panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas and beautiful natural surroundings. Continue to Naldehra (23 kms), set amidst a skyline of tall conifers and famous for its well-groomed nine-hole golf course, offering a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere.

    In the evening, visit the Mall Road and proceed to Jakhu Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, from where you can enjoy an excellent view of Shimla town. Later, visit the Viceregal Lodge, formerly the residence of the British Viceroy of India, which houses ancient articles and photographs from the British era and once served as the seat of power. Also explore The Ridge and Christ Church, two of Shimla’s most prominent landmarks. After sightseeing, return to the hotel.

    Shimla - Manali - (257 Kms, 7 ½ Hrs)

    After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed by road to Manali. The drive takes you through scenic mountain roads, offering beautiful views of valleys and rivers along the way. En route, stop at Kullu village and visit a local shawl factory, where you can see the traditional weaving process and explore a variety of authentic Himachali shawls. After the visit, continue your journey towards Manali.

    On arrival in Manali, check in to the hotel and relax after the drive.

    Manali

    After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing in Manali. Begin with a visit to Naggar Castle Art Gallery, a paradise for art lovers. This historic castle, now also functioning as a heritage hotel, showcases beautiful artwork and paintings, making it an ideal place for those who appreciate art and artistic architecture. Timings: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm.

    Continue to Hadimba Devi Temple, an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, the wife of Bhima from the Indian epic Mahabharata. Surrounded by cedar forests, the temple is known for its unique wooden architecture and peaceful setting.

    Later visit the Tibetan Monastery (Manali Gompa), a wonderful place to experience Buddhist culture. Famous for its wall paintings, pagoda-style architecture, and Chortens, the monastery offers a serene and spiritual atmosphere, with beautiful landscapes surrounding it. Timings: 07:00 am – 07:00 pm.

    Proceed to Vashisht Temple, located just outside Manali across the River Beas, known for its natural hot sulphur springs whose waters are believed to have curative properties.

    In the afternoon, you may choose to drive to Kullu for river rafting on the Beas River. Several private operators provide rafting experiences with proper safety equipment, and while enjoying the activity, you can also admire the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscape. Alternatively, you can spend time exploring and shopping at the lively Mall Road of Manali.

    Return to the hotel in the evening.

    Manali - Rohtang - Manali - (51 Kms, 4 Hrs Drive One Way)

    Early in the morning around 5:30 am, proceed for an excursion to Rohtang Pass (at personal cost through Union vehicle). Situated at an altitude of 3,978 meters on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas and located 51 kms from Manali, Rohtang Pass connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh and further extends towards Ladakh.

    Spend time at Rohtang enjoying the breathtaking mountain views, photography, playing in the snow, and savoring hot Maggi and tea amidst the chilly surroundings. While returning to Manali, if time permits, you may stop at Solang Valley to enjoy adventure activities such as paragliding and zorbing (activities at own cost and subject to weather conditions).

    In the evening, return to the hotel.

    Manali - Dalhousie - (10 Hrs – 390 Kms)

    After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed by road to Dalhousie. The journey covers approximately 390 kms and takes around 10 hours, making it a long and scenic drive through the beautiful landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. Enjoy the changing views of valleys, rivers, and mountain roads along the way.

    On arrival in Dalhousie, check in to your hotel and relax after the day’s travel.

    Dalhousie

    After breakfast, start a little early for a full-day sightseeing tour of Dalhousie. Begin with a visit to Khajjiar, a popular tourist destination known for its lush green meadows and scenic beauty. Often referred to as “Mini Switzerland,” Khajjiar is surrounded by thick deodar and pine forests with the snow-capped Himalayas forming a stunning backdrop. You may enjoy photography and optional horse riding here (at additional cost).

    Continue to Dainkund Peak, also known as the “Singing Hill,” one of the most recommended and famous viewpoints in Dalhousie. From here, you can admire refreshing views of green hills, valleys, and plains. The enchanting sight of the rivers Chenab, Ravi, and Beas flowing through the landscape below further enhances the beauty of this picturesque location.

    Later, visit St. John’s Church, the oldest church in the town, known for its religious and historical significance. The stained-glass windows donated by Lady Elgin are among the main attractions of this church. Timings: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.

    In the evening, explore the Mall Road of Dalhousie at leisure.

    Dalhousie - Amritsar - (220kms, 5hrs)

    After breakfast, check out early from the hotel and drive to Amritsar. Founded in 1577, Amritsar is home to one of the holiest Sikh shrines, the Golden Temple, and is known for its deep historical and cultural significance. The city also houses landmarks such as Jallianwala Bagh, the Partition Museum, Gobindgarh Fort, and Rambagh, built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

    On arrival in Amritsar, proceed to the Attari Wagah Border (31 kms from Amritsar) to witness the prestigious and awe-inspiring “Lowering of the Flags” ceremony held at sunset before the closing of the border gates.

    Later, visit Jallianwala Bagh, a site associated with one of the most tragic yet landmark events in Indian history, where many people were massacred on 13th April 1919. The walls still bear bullet marks and holes that narrate the story of the incident. Information plaques across the park explain the historical importance of the site. Timings: 6:30 am – 7:30 pm.

    Continue to Gobindgarh Fort, a magnificent heritage site that stands as a symbol of Punjab with a rich and inspiring history. From the era of the Bhangi Misl over 257 years ago, through the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the British East India Company, and later the Indian Army, the fort now belongs to the people of Punjab. Explore its grand stories and historical significance. Timings: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm. Attend the Sound & Light Show after sunset.

    Depart from Amritsar

    After breakfast, visit the Golden Temple, an architectural marvel and a small yet magnificent part of the vast Gurudwara complex known to Sikhs as Harmandir Sahib (Darbar Sahib). The temple stands on a rectangular platform surrounded by the sacred pool known as the Amrit Sarovar, from which the city derives its name. Every morning, the Guru Granth Sahib (the holy book of Sikhs) is ceremoniously installed in the temple and returned at night to the Akal Takhat, the temporal seat of the Khalsa brotherhood. With the support of Hukam Singh Chimni and Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the temple was adorned with exquisite gold and marble work that continues to inspire visitors from around the world. The beauty of the Golden Temple is especially captivating during sunrise and after sunset when the shrine is beautifully illuminated. Timings: 3:00 am – 10:00 pm (All Days). No entry fee.

    If you wish, you may take part in the Langar Seva or have Langar Prasad at the Gurudwara in the morning.

    And drop off at Amritsar airport for the flight to your hometown. You return with wonderful memories of Himachal.

What is the best time to visit these destinations?

The best time to visit Shimla, Manali, and Dalhousie is from March to June for pleasant weather and ideal sightseeing conditions, and from October to February if you wish to experience cold weather and possible snowfall in higher regions. Amritsar is most comfortable to visit between October and March, when the climate is pleasant for exploring the Golden Temple and other landmarks. Delhi is best visited from October to March, as summers can be extremely hot.

What is the temperature at these locations?

During summer, Shimla, Manali, and Dalhousie generally experience temperatures between 15°C to 30°C, while winters can range from -2°C to 15°C, with chances of snowfall in higher regions. Amritsar has hotter summers ranging from 25°C to 45°C, and winters between 5°C to 20°C.
