    Amritsar

Arrive at Amritsar Airport, where our representative will meet and assist you with the transfer to your hotel. Founded in 1577, Amritsar is one of Punjab’s most historic and culturally rich cities. It is home to the holiest Sikh shrine, the Golden Temple, as well as the nationally significant Jallianwala Bagh, and the moving Partition Museum, which reflects the stories and memories of the post-partition era. The city also houses architectural landmarks such as Gobindgarh Fort and Rambagh Gardens, both associated with Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel and freshen up. Later in the afternoon, drive to the Attari Wagah Border, located approximately 31 kms from Amritsar, to witness the prestigious and awe-inspiring ‘Lowering of the Flags’ ceremony held at sunset before the closing of the border gates — a truly patriotic and energetic experience.

In the evening, enjoy free time for shopping and tasting the famous local delicacies of Amritsar.

    Amritsar

After breakfast, proceed for a full day of sightseeing in Amritsar, exploring the city’s rich history, spirituality, and heritage.

Begin with a visit to the sacred Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib. This architectural marvel forms a part of a vast Gurudwara complex and stands gracefully on a rectangular platform surrounded by the holy water tank known as the Amrit Sarovar, from which the city derives its name. Every morning, the Guru Granth Sahib (the holy scripture of Sikhism) is ceremoniously placed inside the temple and returned at night to the Akal Takht, the highest seat of authority of the Khalsa brotherhood. With the support of Hukam Singh Chimni and Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the temple was adorned with stunning gold and marble work that continues to leave visitors in awe. The beauty of the Golden Temple is especially captivating during sunrise and after sunset when it is beautifully illuminated.

Later, visit Jallianwala Bagh, the site of one of the most tragic yet significant events in India’s history. The walls still bear bullet marks from the massacre that took place on 13th April 1919 during British rule. Information plaques throughout the park narrate the historical importance of the site and the heartbreaking events that unfolded there.

Continue to Ram Bagh Palace, once the summer residence of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and now a museum displaying royal arms, armour, paintings, manuscripts, and personal belongings of the Maharaja.

Later, explore the historic Gobindgarh Fort, a true symbol of Punjab’s legacy. This magnificent heritage site has witnessed the era of the Bhangi Misl (over 257 years old), the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the British East India Company, the Indian Army, and now stands as a cultural landmark for the people of Punjab. Discover the grand stories and layered history that make this fort so significant.
