In Munnar, you’ll explore stunning locations such as Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, tea gardens, Tata Tea Museum, Blossom Park, Kundala Lake and (optional) Eravikulam National Park, famous for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Then you’ll drive to Thekkady, where scenic spice plantations await, along with opportunities for a Periyar boat safari and cultural experiences like Kathakali dance and Kalaripayattu martial arts.
From there you’ll head to Kumarakom, known for its calm backwaters and a relaxing sunset cruise on Vembanad Lake, plus bird watching at the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.     Cochin - Munnar - (130 kms, 5hrs)

    On arrival at Cochin (Kochi), you will be warmly welcomed and assisted before proceeding on a scenic drive to Munnar, once the summer retreat of the British and today one of Kerala’s most popular hill stations. The journey itself is refreshing, with winding roads, mist-covered hills, cardamom plantations and endless stretches of lush green tea gardens. On the way, enjoy beautiful photo stops near Munnar town at Attukad Waterfalls and Pothamedu View Point, both offering stunning valley and plantation views.

    After reaching Munnar, visit the Tata Tea Museum, one of the most important attractions in the region. The museum showcases the history and evolution of tea processing in Munnar and houses unique exhibits such as the traditional tea roller known as “Rotorvane,” used in CTC tea production. A highlight for tea lovers is the experience of learning about tea plucking and tasting different varieties of freshly brewed tea.

    Munnar

    After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Munnar, exploring its breathtaking natural beauty and popular attractions. Begin with a visit to Eravikulam National Park, located in the Kannan Devan Hills and spread across 97 sq. km. The park is renowned for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, which can be spotted in the Rajamalai region – the only part open to visitors under the tourism zone. The park is divided into core, buffer and tourism areas, while the core and buffer zones remain restricted to the public.
    Timings: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (Open all days)
    Entry Fee: INR 125 per adult, INR 95 per child, INR 420 for foreign nationals
    Note: The park remains closed from February to March every year due to the calving season of Nilgiri Tahr. Advance online booking is advisable.

    Next, visit Kundala Lake, home to Asia’s first arch dam. Surrounded by serene hills and valleys, the lake is known for its scenic beauty and the rare Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once every 12 years. Visitors can enjoy pedal boating, row boating and the popular shikara ride.

    Continue to Mattupetty Dam, a picturesque spot near Anamudi Peak, surrounded by rolling hills, tea plantations and spice gardens. It is an ideal picnic location with trekking paths and boating facilities managed by the District Tourism Promotion Council.

    Later, enjoy a memorable experience at Carmelagiri Elephant Park, located on Mattupetty Road. Here you can take a short elephant safari ride of 10–15 minutes across the rocky terrain of Munnar — a fun activity for both kids and adults.

    You will also visit Blossom Park, a beautifully landscaped garden area along the Muthirappuzha River. The park features flower gardens, artificial waterfalls, lawns and various recreational activities such as nature walks, boating, bird watching, roller skating and badminton. It is especially beautiful between December and February when the greenery is at its best.

    Munnar - Thekkady - (110 kms , 4 hrs)

    After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady, located about 2,800 ft above sea level. The journey is scenic, with winding mountain roads, dense wooded stretches and vast plantations unfolding along the way. As you approach Thekkady, the air turns cooler and fragrant with the aroma of cinnamon and cloves, offering a refreshing change from the hills of Munnar.

    En route, visit a Spice Plantation in Kumily, a region well known for its favourable climate and elevation, ideal for spice cultivation. Kumily is especially famous for cardamom production — particularly the variety Elettaria Cardamom (Small Cardamom) — which grows at altitudes between 600 to 1200 metres above mean sea level. Kerala contributes nearly 70% of India’s total cardamom production, with a significant share coming from this region. You will also see pepper plantations, where sunlight filtering through the lush green leaves creates a truly picturesque sight.

    In the evening, you may choose to attend a cultural performance at the Mudra Cultural Centre (at additional cost), which is popular for traditional Kathakali dance and Kalaripayattu martial arts shows. Kathakali performances here are highly engaging, and visitors can watch the elaborate makeup and costume preparation starting 30 minutes before the show. Still photography is allowed, and it is advisable to arrive early for good seating. Two Kalaripayattu performances are held nightly.

    Thekkady

    After breakfast, proceed to visit Periyar Lake, located within South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary. This sanctuary offers a unique opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat from the safety of a boat ride on the lake. Animals such as elephants, gaur and sambar deer are often spotted near the water’s edge.

    Alternatively, adventure enthusiasts can opt for Bamboo Rafting inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve. This half-day program combines guided forest trekking and rafting through some of the richest forest tracts in the reserve. Participants traverse varied habitats before boarding bamboo rafts, offering panoramic views of forest-clad hills and increased chances of spotting wildlife along the lake shores.

    Thekkady - Kumarakom - (140 kms , 4hrs)

    After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Kumarakom, often referred to as the “Venice of the East.” This charming backwater destination is a collection of small island villages set around the beautiful Vembanad Lake, offering a peaceful and scenic atmosphere.

    Kerala is well known for offering some of the world’s finest Ayurvedic therapies, designed to relax the mind, body, and soul. You may choose to experience these rejuvenating treatments at the resort at an additional cost.

    On arrival at Kumarakom / Alleppey, check into your hotel and unwind. The rest of the day is free for leisure — you can relax in the calm surroundings or enjoy the facilities available at the resort.

    Kumarakom - Cochin - (100 kms , 2 hrs)

    After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Cochin Airport for your return flight. Before heading to the airport, enjoy some sightseeing in Cochin and explore the city’s rich historical charm.

    Begin with a visit to the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, one of the most photographed landmarks in Kochi. These unique shore-operated fishing nets are believed to have been introduced in the 14th century by the Chinese explorer Zheng He, during the time of the great emperor Kublai Khan. Even today, local fishermen use these massive nets, making it a fascinating sight against the coastal backdrop.

    Next, explore Fort Kochi, a historic area that beautifully reflects Kerala’s colonial past. The streets and architecture here showcase influences from the English, Dutch, and Portuguese, giving you a glimpse into the region’s diverse cultural heritage.

    Continue your visit to the famous Jewish Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. Originally built in 1568 and later restored by the Dutch, this place of worship is known for its stunning gold pulpit, hand-painted willow-pattern floor tiles imported from China, an elegant Belgian chandelier, and a distinctive clock tower that enhances its beauty.
