Arrive at Amritsar Airport where our representative will assist you and proceed by road to Dharamshala. Nestled in the lap of the Dhauladhar ranges, Dharamshala is widely known as the home of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, headquartered at Gangchen Kyishong, while most travelers prefer staying and exploring the lively suburb of McLeod Ganj.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, step out to explore the colorful Kotwali Bazaar, known for its vibrant display of Kangra miniature paintings, beautifully embroidered traditional costumes of the local people, intricate wood carvings, tribal jewellery, and even a fascinating fossil believed to be over a million years old.

Later, enjoy the charming café culture that makes Dharamshala especially popular among youngsters. McLeod Ganj is dotted with cozy cafés offering delicious Tibetan and international cuisine along with refreshing beverages — perfect for unwinding, chatting for hours, and soaking in the Instagram-worthy mountain views. Some well-known cafés you may explore include Illiterati, Shiva Cafe, Namgyal Cafe, and Joyful Café.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to explore the local attractions of Dharamshala. Begin with a visit to Dal Lake, located on McLeod Ganj Road in the Kangra district. Surrounded by thick deodar forests, this serene lake is known for its scenic setting and peaceful atmosphere, making it a pleasant stop for relaxation and photographs.

Next, visit the HPCA Stadium, one of the most picturesque cricket stadiums in India. Set against the majestic Dhauladhar mountain range, the stadium is primarily used for Ranji Trophy matches. Its high-altitude location adds to its uniqueness, though weather conditions sometimes affect accessibility. Even without a match, the breathtaking backdrop makes it worth a visit.

Continue to Gyuto Monastery, situated about 9 kilometers southeast of Dharamshala on the Palampur–Dharamshala road. This important monastery is a renowned tantric college of the Gelug Order of Tibetan Buddhism, known for its emphasis on discipline and spiritual practice. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful architecture create a calming environment ideal for quiet reflection and meditation.

Later, drive to Dalhousie. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, you may enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Mall Road and visit Rang Mahal, which houses the Himachal Emporium and showcases local handicrafts and traditional items.

After breakfast, begin your day a little early for a full-day sightseeing tour of Dalhousie and its nearby attractions.

Start with a visit to Khajjiar, one of the most popular and picturesque spots in the region. Often referred to as “Mini Switzerland,” Khajjiar is known for its vast lush green meadows surrounded by dense deodar and pine forests, with the snow-capped Himalayas forming a stunning backdrop. It is an ideal place for photography, relaxing walks, and optional horse riding (at additional cost).

Next, proceed to Dainkund Peak, also known as Singing Hill. This is one of the highest and most recommended viewpoints in Dalhousie. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding green hills, valleys, and plains. What makes this spot truly special is the enchanting sight of the three rivers — Chenab, Ravi, and Beas — flowing gracefully through the landscape below, adding to the scenic charm of the region.

Later, visit St. John’s Church, the oldest church in Dalhousie, known for its religious and historical significance. The beautiful stained-glass windows, donated by Lady Elgin, are the main highlight of this church.

Overnight stay at Dalhousie.

After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Amritsar. Founded in 1577, Amritsar is one of the most important spiritual and historical cities of India. It is home to the holiest Sikh shrine, the Golden Temple, as well as significant landmarks that reflect India’s freedom struggle and Punjab’s royal heritage.

Upon arrival, proceed to the Attari–Wagah Border (approximately 31 kms from Amritsar) to witness the prestigious and awe-inspiring ‘Lowering of the Flags’ ceremony held at sunset. The energetic parade by Indian and Pakistani soldiers, accompanied by patriotic enthusiasm from the crowd, makes for a memorable experience.

Later, visit Jallianwala Bagh, a site of immense national importance. This historic garden marks the tragic massacre of 13th April 1919. The preserved bullet marks on the walls and memorial plaques narrate the painful story of the event.

Continue to Gobindgarh Fort, an iconic symbol of Punjab’s glorious past. The fort has witnessed the era of the Bhangi Misl, the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the British East India Company, the Indian Army, and now stands as a heritage site open to visitors. Explore its rich history and, if time permits, attend the Sound & Light Show held after sunset.

Finally, visit the sacred Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib. This architectural marvel stands gracefully amidst the holy Amrit Sarovar. The Guru Granth Sahib is ceremoniously placed in the temple every morning and returned to the Akal Takht at night. The gold-plated structure, enhanced during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, looks especially divine during sunrise and when illuminated after sunset.
