Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our office personnel and assisted with your transfer to the hotel. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, lies in the Kathmandu Valley, which forms the political and cultural heart of the Kingdom. What appears today as modern Kathmandu is actually a combination of two historic cities — Kathmandu and Patan — together creating the vibrant urban landscape of the valley. After check-in, the rest of the time is at leisure.

After breakfast, you will set out to explore the spiritual and cultural landmarks of Kathmandu. The day begins with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Pashupatinath. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, about 5 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu Valley, this revered temple is considered the seat of the national deity. The temple complex, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, is an extensive precinct comprising temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions that have been built over centuries along the sacred river. It is also a place where holy sadhus gather for prayer and spiritual rituals.

You will then continue to Boudhanath Stupa, the holiest shrine for Buddhist culture in Nepal. With its massive stupa structure, this sacred site is an important pilgrimage destination for devout Buddhists.

After visiting these two prominent religious landmarks, proceed to Patan, also known as Lalitpur, the “City of Beauty.” Separated from Kathmandu by the Bagmati River, Patan is the second largest town in the valley and is renowned for its remarkable architectural heritage. The central Patan Durbar Square is densely packed with temples and stands as an architectural masterpiece, boasting a greater concentration of temples per square meter than Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. Within the city lies the Tibetan Refugee Center, home to much of the valley’s Tibetan community, well known for their thriving carpet industry. It is an ideal place for those wishing to purchase authentic Tibetan carpets.

Later, visit Swayambhunath, one of Nepal’s most iconic landmarks. The golden spire of the 5th-century stupa, adorned with colorful prayer flags, crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers magnificent views of the city. The painted eyes of Buddha gaze in all directions as visitors ascend the worn stone steps to the shrine.

After breakfast, drive to Pokhara, covering a distance of approximately 210 kilometres, which takes around 7 hours by road. Pokhara, situated at an altitude of 2,352 feet, is known for its natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. In clear weather, you can enjoy splendid views of the snow-capped mountains right from the hotel.

On the way, you have the option (at an additional cost) to experience river rafting (INR 2,000 per person if required) or visit the famous Manakamana Temple, known as the “Goddess of Fulfilling Wishes.” The temple can be reached by a 10-minute cable car ride (INR 500 per person for cable car tickets, if required).

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Sarangkot, the most popular viewpoint near Pokhara. Located just 13 kms from Lakeside, Sarangkot stands at an altitude of 1,592 meters and is the highest viewpoint for witnessing a spectacular sunrise. It is slightly cooler than Pokhara and can be reached within 45 to 60 minutes by car. Many visitors travel here early in the morning to enjoy panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley and the surrounding Himalayan ranges. From the northern side, you can see Dhaulagiri in the far west, and the Annapurna Range is clearly visible on bright days. In the afternoon, visit Bindhyabasini Temple, one of the oldest temples in Pokhara, dating back to the time of the Kaski Kingdom. The main deity, Goddess Durga, was brought from India. Besides its peaceful atmosphere, the temple premises offer beautiful views of the Himalayas on clear days. As the temple is located in the bazaar area, a walk through the old bazaar can easily be combined with the visit.

Later, proceed to Devi’s Fall, also known as Patale Chango, a striking waterfall situated about 2 km southwest of Pokhara. During summer and the rainy season, the waterfall flows in full force, creating a dramatic sight as water gushes through the rocks. Just opposite the waterfall is Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, known for its natural limestone formations. Photography inside the cave is strictly prohibited.

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu, retracing the same scenic route. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. The rest of the day is at leisure. You may choose to explore the local markets for shopping or visit the casinos to try your luck on your own.

After breakfast, the morning will be comparatively free until your departure time. Closer to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight for your onward journey.
