Kerala: From Misty Peaks to Emerald Backwaters, Discover the Soul of God’s Own Country.
Kerala – The Soul of God’s Own Country
Duration: 7 Nights / 8 Days
Route: Cochin – Munnar – Thekkady – Kumarakom – Cochin
At The Kangaroo Travels, we believe Kerala isn’t just a destination; it’s a feeling. This 8-day journey is designed to take you slow, letting you breathe in the spice-scented air of the Western Ghats and drift through the quiet rhythm of the backwaters.
We start in the historic lanes of Cochin, where giant Chinese fishing nets frame the sunset, before heading up into the rolling tea carpets of Munnar. Here, the mornings are misty, and the air is crisp—perfect for exploring hidden waterfalls or simply watching the clouds settle over the peaks.
From the tea gardens, we move into the wild heart of Thekkady. You’ll walk through spice plantations where pepper and cardamom grow wild and witness the raw energy of Kalaripayattu (traditional martial arts) in the evening. The journey then finds its peaceful finale in Kumarakom, where life centers around the vast Vembanad Lake. Whether you’re watching a kingfisher dive from your resort balcony or enjoying a sunset cruise, this is where you’ll truly find your “zen.”
We wrap up the loop back in Cochin, leaving you with a camera full of photos and a soul full of Kerala’s legendary calm. Join The Kangaroo Travels for a week of emerald landscapes and authentic local warmth.

- Yes, it is highly recommended. The boat safari is the most popular activity in Thekkady and tickets sell out fast. You can book your slots (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM) online at the official KTDC website to ensure you don’t miss out.
- Most hotels in Munnar do not have air conditioning or fans because the weather is naturally very cool and pleasant due to the high altitude. Even if a hotel has AC, they often do not need to use it. You’ll find the mountain air much more refreshing!
- Yes, the same vehicle and driver will be with you from your arrival at Cochin Airport until your final drop-off on Day 8. Our drivers are familiar with the routes and will handle all the transfers between cities and sightseeing spots.
- We offer flexibility! Since this is a private tour by The Kangaroo Travels, you can discuss with the driver if you want to skip a museum to spend more time at a lake. As long as it fits within the day’s route and timing, we are happy to adjust to your pace.
